Anyone out there added an amp to the somewhat feeble radio?

If so, does the radio have amplifier outputs (RCA) or anything to make
installation easy. Is the trunk the best place to locate an amp?

I noticed that the speakers have slightly non-stock sized mounts and 
oddly shape speaker wire connectors. Are there any conversion kits out there
(so I can restore the Miata to original condition when  I sell it). Or do
I just have to start cutting?
