Since, here in Belgium, license plates are red characters on white, and my miata is red, I asked him just to supply me with a large enough white fluorescent sticker. I cut out the letters and figures, so the miata's red would form the characters. Looked nice (I used a nice font from CorelDraw 3.0). But when I tried to stick it onto my bumper, the material turned out to be too stiff (a bit like overhead projector slides) to bend with the curvature of the car's nose. Tried it twice (he'd given me a whole roll of the adhesive stuff) and then abandonned. For the moment I use the standard mounting hardware with a normal plate. Yet, yesterday, I heard that (in Belgium) there might even not be any clause in the traffic law mentioning the obligation of a front license plate (which is just a duplicate of the official rear one). I'll ask a cousin of mine (PhD in law) to look things up in his books. If it turns out not to be compulsory (though everyone assumes it is), farewell plate. Piet RUYSSINCK
