Is the trunk the best place to locate an amp? No. The factory head unit has only speaker-level outputs, not line-level. IMO, the trunk is a good place, because it's a large open area, and amps generate heat. > I noticed that the speakers have slightly non-stock sized mounts and > oddly shape speaker wire connectors. I also have the clearwater door speakers, which I also like. They required the use of a nibbler to make small cutouts for the speaker frame, and drilling new screw holes, but the connectors are standard Mazda/Ford speaker connectors. Crutchfield, for example, can supply them very easily. -- Ken *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* Ken Warren E-Mail: kenw@netaxs.com *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*
