Fellow Nut Cases, I recall reading in the manual not to raise or lower the top at outside temperatures below 42 degrees F. Why do you suppose that is? Plastic might crack, maybe. Of course 42.1 degrees is OK. My solution on clear but cold days, back when I had a heated garage, was to lower the top in the morning, drive to work (covered parking) , go back home with top down. Next morning, re-evaluate conditions. Never use the boot cover. Now that I have a roll bar and no garage, I don't put the top down when it's cold much. I can't unzip the rear window due to the bar, and rolling the clear window plastic when cold is a Bad Thing, Man (regards to D. Hopper and Nike). -Al -------------------------------------- Date: 1/4/94 1:12 PM To: Al Jenab >From: Andy Poling On Tue, 4 Jan 1994, Alan Dahl wrote: > You start with two people in the car, top up (& rear window unzipped to prevent > damage) and key in the trunk. I haven't used my boot-cover in the past two years. I'd say alot of other people don't either if they're raising the top from the driver's seat... -Andy
