PUGET SOUNDERS ARE A BUNCHA WIMPS!!! Gollee, putting the top up and down while you're STOPPED, forgoshsakes! --and when it's WARM??? Come on, we've had all kinds of Miataphiles talking about driving around with the top down in the SNOW, forgoshsakes, and how they can put the top up/down at red line in fourth or whatever. Let's get with it and have a REAL competition. I'll stand by the side and judge. Meanwhile, Alex's thoughts on an east - west competition sounds sufficiently rational so as not to attract the attention of the law. Let's try it! >> Sorry did I miss something here ? Anyone need a co-driver from the UK ? (P.S: Way back a couple decades or so, the soaring enthusiasts who were partial to a specific type - the Schweizer 1-26, to be precise - used to include in their Nat'l Championships, a competition to see who could assemble their sailplane the fastest. This involves putting the WINGS AND TAIL on! I wasn't around at the time, but as I recall from my reading, they had it down to around 2.5 minutes from trailer to flight line ready. Then you had to FLY the thing! Well, it was inspected by an impartial authority first. Even so, Miata top up and top down competitions may be somewhat more sane.) --Jack M.
