My thanks to Tom Tkacik, Alan Dahl, Andy Poling and whomever else was
responsible.  I had given up hope for my boot just as many of others had.
I will now experiment to see how it should be done.  The one and only time
that I had used it I was on the DC beltway and the flapping had me so
concerned about safety, that I pulled off to get it off of the car.  Those
of you familiar with that highway (at 4:45 PM) will no that it is no simple
thing to pull off on the shoulder and get back on without undue stress.
Such was the pressure that I felt with that boot flapping (another factor
motivating my action was the embarrassment of how it looked in my brand
spanking new sports car).
