While I was out this am, I passed a WalMart and decided to stop and look for the Tootsie Toy miata. Virtually every auto toy was sold out, however....I found a new one!!! Road Champs (makers of the Flip Tops Miata and the new Crash-n-smash miata that was listed either here or in the MCA's Points to Ponder). has a small Miata a little larger than the Hot Wheels Miata. The Road Champs version is packaged with two other cars (a Mercedes or BMW and another car that I can' quite make out). The three cars sell for the amzing price of $1.97. Item number is 1100-3. The car is made of plastic (mostly) and some metal. The car's detail is fairly blah and inaccurate in some places. The windshield is black (part of the casting of the interior), but what do you want for 70 cents?! ***Yes, BIll Allen, you can add this to your complete Miata toy list - since you are an MMC! :-) On the subject of folding the top boot- I agree with Tom Tcakic (sorry if I spelled it wrong). The boot has four notches in the plastic lip. Fold the two outer edges over onto themselves (vinyl to vinyl): \__ __/ -> == == Then fold the cover over again, with the small flaps in (cloth to cloth). The result will be as others have noted - a small square of material. Pull out any kinks in the fabric and the boot will lay flat: == == (essentially) Took the Miata skiing today. They wouldn't let me rent skis for it or take it on the lift with me...spoil sports! ;-) -alex- Alex M.
