From: sling@lobby.ti.com (Steven Ling) Subject: Marks on tan top/alloy wheel cleaning/club trips Date: Fri, 7 Jan 1994 11:10:44 -0500
Time for my monthly posting of questions/comments... (1) Has anyone with a tan top noticed black marks on the edges of the folds where it rubs against the inner liner when the top is down? I took it to my dealer and they said it was dirty, wash it off. Well, I tried and it doesn't wash off. (2) When my car was new the alloy wheels had some discoloration on them that wouldn't wash off. In a moment of inspiration, I grabbed the bottle of Mequires polish for the rear window (#10 I think) and used it on the alloy wheels. The stains came off, and an added benefit is that the brake dust doesn't seem to stick as bad. I think the alloys are coated with something and I guess this polishes it??? (3) I've taken several trips with my local club (Lone Star in Dallas/ Fort Worth) where we had 20+ cars traveling together. This can be a major problem for the other traffic. We even had some people passing us on the shoulder on I-35 last year! Have any of the other clubs found a solution? [][][] Steve Ling Internet: sling@lobby.ti.com Texas Instruments, Inc.
