> Barry Susskind and others ask about experiences with mechanics in the Washington DC area. I have heard good things about Ourisman Mazda in Bethesda, but have not yettried them (my '90 Miata hasn't needed much, despite lots of abuse). Interestingly, I have had very good luck with Rosenthal, but at their Arlington facility near the Ballston Metro stop. The fact that I bought the car in Buffalo (yes; took delivery in a snow storm) never came up when I had Rosenthal/Arlington do some warranty work. Actually, they act as if I bought the car from them. Their parts guy will also give a substantial discount if you tell him you are a Mazda Club member. (I happen to work nearby, so it has been convenient.) If you want a non-Mazda-dealer mechanic, I can heartily recommend a small firm in Falls Church VA called "London Auto Services." The owner, Tom Baruch, is a long-time area autocrosser, driving school instructor, motorsports enthusiast, and superb mechanic. He is NOT cheap, but his firm's work is good and customer relations excellent. Phone 703-560-6975, and you can tell him I referred you. Alas, like others, I have heard nothing but bad things about Rosenthal/Tysons. Caveat Emptor. David Missert/missertd@delphi.com/CIS 70713,1505
