Hmmm, perhaps I'm getting fed a line, too. I bought my '91 silver B last August, used, from EuromotorCars of Bethesda. When I asked how old the car was, they said that the car was sold new and first registered in December of '91. Great, I thought, the car must have been a leftover '91 sold in the '92 model year which means that the 3 year warranty won't run out until December '94. However, looking through some service records left by the previous owner in the glove box, I found two different warranty expiration dates on two different service receipts - one stated 12/94, the other 4/94. The originator of the receipts who, as you might expect, was the dealer of the car when new, was none other than *Rosenthal Mazda*. When I called them to ask "why two different dates", they said that 4/94 was correct since even though the car was first registered in December '94, it had been a "demo model" since April '94, used by their salesmen to drive to and from work with dealer plates, and that Mazda counted the demo period as part of the warranty. I think I've got over the horror of imagining Rosenthal dealers and prospective car buyers driving my car the way I drive rental cars (or worse) , but I'm now wondering whether I was given correct information about the warranty period by Rosenthal. Does anyone know for sure?... any thoughts?......if I call Mazda to confirm, what's their telephone number? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Buckingham, Germantown Md.
