Parking lights have sure created some split camps! They have their uses, though. The Good: Using them while parked, using them while approaching a check point (at a military base, during a rally) or using them while stopped/parked in a line of cars. And using them to flash at oncoming miatas! And anytime you need them during the day. I HATE when people drive around with their headlights on during the day. They invariably have their high-beams on and it hurts the eyes when I'm low to the ground. Also, I never know if they're in a funeral. The bad: not a real substitute at dawn, dusk and in the rain, but better than nothing. The Ugly: forgetting to turn on the real headlights when it does get dark. This doesn't happen very often in a place with no streetlights! (my $0.02 worth) kate
