One thing I've done different with my alarm is that I put the siren INSIDE
the car.  This accomplishes two things:  the arm/disarm bleep is not as
aggravating to the neighbors at 3am, and the thief is more motivated to
vacate the vehicle.  Believe me - that siren is LOUD when it's staring you
in the knees in an enclosed or semi-enclosed space.
