I had a sudden urge to go on vacation. (It's great to be single and have a Miata. Wanna drive - who's gonna say "no, let's spend the week seeding the lawn"). Does anyone know much about the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Natchez-Trace Trail? That looks like a good short drive for a spring break week, hopefully with the top down. Any information about road conditions, possible snow cover still at the higher elevations (hey, I know we're talking Virginia/North Carolina/Tennessee, but 12 months ago they got 2 feet in one day in the Great Smokies). Does anyone know what to expect for camping along the route? (No, I don't need a list of places, but if you know of old favorites...) Are there a good supply of campgrounds open this time of year? Does the temperature drop real low at night? (Am I gonna freeze my tootsies walking to the KOA bathroom in my fuzzy bathrobe and slippers? Will I need to bring my electric heater for my pup tent? I love the authentic feel of camping you get at those places.) ====Aaah, the evil New York City native I channel for is about to speak: I don't know if I'll see many responses to this - I haven't noticed many southeast people on the mailing list. Northen VA is really a small part of NY, and all of south Florida is really the sixth borough of NYC. Is the southeast on the long distance telephone network yet? Will the information highway come to Uncle Dub's Gas-n-Go? ====All done, donning the asbestos driving gloves now... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Edward Lewis NASA/GSFC Code 520.0 Center Network Environment Entropy happens....
