At Performance Buyers Club, we have encountered the same problem with our window protector and above year cars (but not all of them). It seems that the snap directly behind the driver is off kilter by as much as 5/8". Our window protector, like Brainstorms' will not lie flat in that case. It appears that Mazda moved the snap in some cars and still uses the same soft boot from 90 on. You can have the snap repositioned under warantee, but take the soft boot and a window protector to the dealership so they can see the misallignment with that snap. Good luck.
