Here's a question for all you mechanical engineers. (Or maybe some friendly and well-informed Mazda QC person.) I'm building a little controller for my headlights that will allow me to make them wink and blink and do whatever other crazy stuff I can think of. Now if I drive my Miata every day for ten years, and raise and lower the headlights just twice per day, that's about 7300 cycles. Question is, might they be engineered to crap out after 10000 cycles, or can I blithely pop them up and down a hundred times per day with relative impunity? If I wear out a motor, how big of a hack it it to replace? Don't ask me why. I don't have to have a good reason. - Thanks Walter
