I think I was able to get mine loose with a 15/16" socket, but I don't recommend it. 23mm sockets DO exist, but they are not easy to find. You won't see 'em at Sears or Kragen Auto Parts or whatever. Look around for a good hardware or tools store that has a big selection and you'll find one. Don't use an adjustable wrench; it's probably in there tight enough that you will mess up the head of the bolt. Also, I find that drain plugs are easier to knock loose when the part in question is cold. Anybody else experience this? My procedure for changing oil is: knock drain plug loose 1/4 turn or so, run engine at idle to normal temperature, wait for oil to drain into pan, remove drain plug (begin careful not to pour hot engine oil down arm!) -Jeff
