Hello. Yes, there is a quite lengthy roof setup section in the repair manual, way too long to type in here. It's really very complicated and I bet that your latches were out of adjustment when your roof came loose. Re tonneau covers, Santa Claus brought me one this past winter and I put in on this past weekend--the revival of a "tradition" from when I had an MGB in college in Colorado. Of course, there were many occassions when the MG had a foot of snow in it, too. While it's just about as fast to put up the top as it is to snap on the tonneau cover, if you use the regular roof cover when you put down the roof it's going to take you quite a bit longer to get going. I think the tonneau cover should be the normal state of a car like this and the roof is only for winter...we'll see whether I still believe this next time it rains... I haven't heard from anybody on how to connect an oil temperature gauge sensor, so I guess I'm on my own...still hoping for ideas, though... Doug.
