Miatateers: Regarding Jack McCombs' comments on Miata engine-coolant replacement: In this environmentally critical era it's important to know where to dispose of the spent/dilute antifreeze from the Miata engine. Antifreeze is now classified as a hazardous waste. In checking with our hazardous waste experts in this agency (we are responsible for water treatment) I was advised that it is OK for homeowners (but not auto-shops) to put the material flushed out of the engine into the "sanitary system" (sewer) but not in the stormwater system (street gutters). If you care about the waters you live in and near, be sure to collect and dispose of the diluted antifreeze in the pottys or sinks of your home! :-) Bill Allen
