my guess is you just didn't latch it properly, but there are some things
that might require adjustment.  check it out in daylight and see if things
seem to be operating correctly.  on my car, one of the two mounting
brackets on the windshield header has come loose a couple times, and
the bolt required tightening - i suppose this could also contribute to
latching problems too.
