Ronnie sez:>> I want to start auto-x'ing my Miata in the SF Bay Area. Can anybody point me at a good local driving school? And a bookstore? Thanks. Ronnie << Ronnie, the SF Bay area has some of the best autocross drivers in the country. A very high ration of National level drivers. I imagine their schools are super. Try joining Team.Net, an internet list of autocrossers. Address for subscribing and digest requests: autox-request@autox.team.net and say "Subscribe" Send your mail (actual dialogue) to autox@autox.team.net There is actually a Bay area division of this net, administered by Josh Sirota (who is very nice and very helpful). The bay division addresses are: ba-autox-request@autox.team.net ba-racers@autox.team.net respectively. Have fun!! And on waving:>> 1. I'd estimate that my wave-back ratio is better than 90%, as well. And that's true throughout the year, not just now because the weather is good and people aren't used to seeing convertibles so soon (I'm in Buffalo). << I am very sad. I was looking forward to spring and waving at the other three Miatas... and only the red one has shown up this spring!!! And he's the guy who doesn't wave!! Now my wave back percent is ZERO. Just to let you know that not waving causes bad luck, I saw his car in the parking lot the other day with the top up (we have to here when we park, it rains too often) and he had a lovely, completely melted, frosted chocolate cake seeping into his passenger seat. Payback is just hell. Cheerio!! kate
