Sometimes they'll pull a tidbit out of one and stick it in the big rag. The important thing to realize is that the National Club isn't a club at all. Did *you* ever get to vote for president? No. Its a business operation with a highly targeted demographic - that's all. They have a built in subscriber base and therefore have no incentive to make the magazine bigger/better/more comprehensive. They make a *fortune*. They get $25/year from 40,000 people for 4 stinkin' issues. Add to that the incredible advertising revenue. I doubt you'll *ever* see them go to 6 issues/year unless the advertisers demand it. Otherwise they have no reason to give out 50% more magazines for the same $$. Hell, they don't even give *any* support to local chapters - after all, they already *have* our membership dollars. Getting back on track - I get to see most of the local newsletters. There's very little substance in most of them. There are a few good ones - some *very* good. But there is little material besides very "chapter specific" stuff like event reviews, calendars, reprints of stuff from Internet, etc. Occasionally you'll see a short member profile or Miata human interest type of piece. ...Gary ******************************************************************** Gary J.
