While the 302 fits in the Miata, I suspect that the 429 wouldn't, especially since a Mustang required "minor modification". The 351 has a deck height more than 1" higher than a 302, and a 429/604 higher still. A 429 is also a good deal wider, not to mention more than 100 lbs heavier than a 302. Doesn't sound like something a sane person would do. But then again, was it sane to stick a 302 in a Miata in the first place, or a 427 side-oiler in an AC Cobra?!? :-) Sometimes visionaries are labelled lunatics. Doug Q. dquara@encore.com
