    	What a treat at yesterday's Finger Lakes Region season opener!! 
    Four whole entries in Blue Miatas.  Dave  and Rich co-driving Rich's 
    '89, Terry in his new '94 Laguna Blue (looks pretty cool in metallic!) 
    in Novice class, and me in my '91.  We also had 2 Fieros, an MR2 and an 
    RX7.
    	The course was just right for a Miata.. Twisty enough to be fun (I 
    love slolams), yet loose enough to get and stay in the meat of second 
    gear.  Dave and Rich drove their usual express times at the front of 
    the class (you know that rabbit that they have at the dog races, it 
    makes the rest of the pack run faster?  That's what Dave and Rich are).  
    Terry did an excellent job with his new car and even joined us in a top 
    down day (it was an overcast 42 degrees and the wind was a steady 
    30mph.  Occasional snow flurries and sprinkles of rain).  I didn't have 
    a great day on the course times-wise, but I did have a great day 
    driving.  For some reason, the car wasn't responding (or the driver 
    wasn't).  Maybe a pair of gloves and a coat would have helped (it was 
    warm when I left home!).  Times, to the best of my recall, which 
    doesn't include hundredths and thousandths places:

    	Dan's MR2	64.3
    	Kate's Miata	64.5
    	RX7		66.2
    	Fiero		66.9
    	Fiero 		70.2
