Another one to Mike L. (and anyone else who would like to join us). Mike, I noticed in one of your msgs. that you apparently live in the Washington, DC area. There are a couple clubs (with corresponding activities) you may be interested in. First of all, there is a Mazda Sports Car Club of Washington (not limited to Miatas), which meets the first Tues. of each month (next time around will be June 7th) at 7:30 pm at the Galleria, Tyson's II, upper level of the Garden Food Court. There is a club hot line at 202-298-1211 for further info on this or other events. On the first Saturday each month (tomorrow, May 7, as I post this) they have a scenic drive, starting from the Westpark Hotel parking lot - Route 7, Tyson's Corner - be there at 9:30 am. This time around the destination is Catoctin Park in MD. This is a pretty active group - lots of stuff going on. The other group of which I am aware is the Chesapeake Area Miata Club. This is a smaller group (typically from 3 to a dozen cars will show for an event) and we don't have organized meetings (some might say we don't have organized anything else, either). Anyway, we get together on the order of once a month (I suspect that may increase with good weather) to do something or go somewhere. next event is scheduled for Sunday, May 15 - a gimmick rally starting from the White Marsh Mall - arrive betw. 9:00 and 9:30 am. First car is scheduled out at 10:00 am. There is an outrageous entry fee for this rally, which will no doubt scare many people off - it's a whole TWO DOLLARS! :-) I guess the planners are operating on the "lose a little on each sale but make it up in volume" principle. Call Tim Fitzgerald, 410-255-8443 between 8 - 10 pm for further info, or just show up like I'm going to. I wouldn't miss this rally - here's my chance to place in the top 15 - maybe higher, if there are fewer entrants. For general club info, call Alex Postpischl, 301-345-1340 (College Park, MD). I look forward to seeing you and your '93 C at an upcoming event, Mike (and any others who want to join in). --Jack & Anne & Kansei--
