People who want "just a car" buy:

old ford mavericks
old chevy novas

ford tempos (this almost qualifies as a go cart with a body)
Chrysler K cars (reliants and the like)

or if you are really cheap:

hyundai
ford festiva
geo metro (not the convertable, at least they are cute)
yugo (good luck finding any that work, even when new)


etc.
