Fellow fiends:

I receive the Miata mailings as a daily digest.  That means that
though I am not up to the minute on postings, I get to read them as
a group, which can be instructive.  Regarding MM and MCA, I have a few
additional thoughts...(beyond my own flame yesterday)
-No, it ain't a club.  It is a business, a marketing tool, just like
any enthusiast publication is.  Other than Indy, what "events" are
carried out by the MCA?  It seems to me that 99% of all events are
local chapter based.  I pay less for 50 issues of Autoweek.
-Ken Buck has some valid remarks concerning our *direct* input to MCA
if we are unhappy/disappointed etc.  Someone who figured out an ascii
drawing of Bill the cat can't be all bad.
-On the other hand, there already is an alternative club: us here
on the net.  No dues (yet).  No late publications.  No noxious and
repetitive adds.  Only mispelled wurds and occasional flames.
And periodically, a correctly answered question or bit of advice.

My sage wisdom: Support the "club" that makes the most difference to you,
be it MCA, your local chapter or the net.  Support it actively!

Having said that, I'm going out in the garage and detail my sidewalls.
If there is one thing that *really* bugs me its...
