Craig,
   You will need two brackets, just like at the top of your windshield, to
fasten the sides of the hardtop down.  The threaded nuts are behind the
plastic panel so you just need to locate them and punch the holes for the
screws.  The top will work without these but will not fit tight at the sides.
 Look at any car with a hard top and you will see them.
