Whilst you people on the net are very friendly and subscribe to the old MG ocupation of acknowledging anyone in a similar car, I have to tell you how poor the response is to such activities in the UK. Mazda UK appear to market the car to people who only view it as an extension to their ego. For example. Saturday, nicest day of the year. 75 degrees, blue sky, top down, t-shirt, shorts and shades, 70mph down an "A" road (ie not a motorway). I see another red MX5, hood down, shades on etc in the inside lane so I blast up alongside (don't worry, it's dual carriageway), grin inanely and wave frantically. NO REACTION, absolutely bugger all. This is fairly typical. In all the time I've had the car, I'd say I get a reaction from about 1/3 of the miatas I see. OK so some of them my do as I do, and flash after I've passed because of the relationship between closing speed and headlight pop-up speed but still, its a poor show. Anyway, it gets my goat. - Jonathan ---------------------------------------------------------- Fellow fiends: There I was minding my own business driving home in comfortable old Red '91 when I spotted a brand new Montego Blue '94. Pulled up to the fellow *BUT*HE*DIDN'T*EVEN*WAVE*TO*ME*! I thought they only sold these cars to friendly people! That's all... Will "Mr. Bluegenes" Zehring
