"Dunlop" Dave (sorry, I don't remember his last name) told me at the
little auto-x-type course he set up at Gold Rush that the SP8000 would
last a little longer.  The course was set up for us to try different
Dunlop tires, and different model-year Miatas.  The SP8000 was brand
new then.  Maybe someone has some better data on longevity now?
