Ken The daytime running lights are just the existing turn signal filaments turned on for a constant burn. Turns are accomplished by interrupting the appropriate filament intermittantly in the regular fashion. The real tricky part comes when the rear lamps are not lit with the front ones until you turn, then it's magic. The effect of having the front turn signal filaments on for all daytime driving IMHO is both safer and very attractive. The Miata can be instantly identified from great distances by it's bright jewel like "eyes" Watch for the Canadian contingent at the upcoming Miatas at Indy II. The Trillium chapter will definitely be there. I was there in 92 Boy you guy's know how to have fun! Two hundred cars three hundred people Miata fanatics to the soul every one of them. I still remember taking a walk at three A.M. and CARS are being washed in the parking lot. We gotta be nuts. Love it. Archie Glasgow Elect. Eng. Techn. University of Windsor Bio. Sci.
