I've used these for about 3 years on the race cars and I've been extremely happy with them. They are "competition" tires but they are DOT legal street tires. You can expect about 3,000-10,000 miles from them on the street. They are not shaved, but come from the factory with only 6/32" of tread at the center of the tire. Wet performance is marginal, snow or ice performance is non-existant =:0
