From: "Ronnie B. Kon" Subject: Changing my oil Date: Thu, 9 Jun 1994 12:48:08 -0400
Well, I got fed up with my dealer and decided to change my own oil from now on. The problem is that I'm pretty clueless. I have a floor jack and jack stands. I managed to drain the old oil and add new but I had to jack up each side of the car separately (I used the flat metal thing where a strut goes from the wheel, just behind the forward wheels. I then put the jack stands at the jack points showed in the owners guide. Is there a good place in the center-front of the car that I can jack up both wheels at once? How do I get the oil filter out? (I didn't even try this time). I have a Mazda wrench on order. Do you get it from above or below? How do you keep the oil from dripping onto the bottom of the car? How do you lube the car? If someone would send me a step-by-step for idiots guide, I'd appreciate it. Also, I'm planning on changing my transmission fluid for Redline MTL. Is this going to be hard? Thanks.
