Miateers:
I'm bummed!!! Finally got some pressing work out of the way and was able to
get out with the top down on a nice day (last Saturday) and lo and behold,
I became a Memorial day highway stastic.
Nobody hurt except my newly painted 1991 A pkg (yellow now) Miata. A lady
in a truck two cars behind me decided to pass just as I was making a left
turn. She pulled out and floored it and nailed me broadside on the rear
quarter panel. Then she proceeded to take out my door and part of the
front quarter panel before stopping (she was probably doing about 55 when
she hit me). Crushed the rear quarterpanel sufficiently to make it
impossible to raise the top and my rear wheel is askew by about 20 degree's
but still turns.
Has anybody had any experiences with fixing a hurt miata? I have a good
body shop but I don't know how many miata's they work on. Is there
anything special they should do about the suspension in order to make it
work right again? I don't think that the frame is bent, but are can they be
straightened if it is? Does anyone have an idea on how long it takes
(generally) to get replacement fenders and tops (even though my top was
down it got ripped in the collision). Are there good used parts out there
(like a door)? I am kind of worried that the insurance companies will want
to total it, that would be a tragedy, so is there anyway to ensure that
they don't do that?
I'd appreciate any help you can offer (commiseration accepted also).
Oh... on the WWW miata faq that Jeff Hollensen sent this about:

I got in without any problem using this line in my local home page:
Miata FAQ?
BTW, I thought that yellow was a 1994 color, but according to the WWW FAQ
it was an optional 1991 color. Is that right?
Thanks
