I have a K&N air filter in my Miata; I've had it for ~35k miles, with no problems. K&N pretty much guarantees the thing for 1,000,000 miles, as long as you clean it when it's dirty. When clean, a K&N filter will breathe a little better than the stock paper filter. Once it starts to get dirty, though, it's *more* restrictive. K&N claims that you should clean and re-oil it every 50k miles (I think); my experience is that every 15k is more like it. One thing that might bother you is that the air intake noise is a bit louder with a K&N filter than with the stock paper filter. Or it might not; it doesn't bother me. :) -- Ken *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* Ken Warren E-Mail: kenw@netaxs.com *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* Finger me for the current Philadelphia Region SCCA Solo II schedule...
