I'm on my second set of D40 M2s and I couldn't be happier with them.
They are excellent road tires, very sticky and predictable.
I've driven the SP8000s only briefly through a slalom; I didn't see
much difference.  I've heard both praised in comparisons.  I'd go with
the less expensive, which will probably be the D40s.
