2 years ago I had my entire top replace because ('90 model year) the 
material where the door closes pulled away.  This probem was fixed
in later years with a metal clip.  Anyway, the dealer farmed it out to an
auto upholstery shop.  I was told it was a big job. If you can believe
the dealer. They did a good job, no leaks so far. 

Gotta love the Mazda warranty.
