I am about 3000 miles into a set of SP8000s. Best tire I have ever had on the street. The guy I talked to at Tire Rack said that their tire test (on a Miata) between the 8000 and the 40 showed the 8000 to be more predictable and faster through the slolom. My concern was about wear. They said that with newer rubber technology, the 8000 will last longer than the 40. Then again, he did not say by how much. Regardless, I am very, very pleased with my selection. Other choices: Michelin xgtz, Comp TA 3, Brigstone RE71. Size is 195 50 15 on 7 inch X 15 inch Fittipaldi Sebrings. Indy II bound at 5 p.m. Tuesday, see some of you there!
