Well, given this story, you'll certainly understand why I don't go to the dealer for service. In 4 years and 93,000 miles, I've only been to the dealer once and that was to get new ignition wires under warranty. I'm more concerned about incompetance than about prices. As for your being told that there is "no appeal process" - WRONG! Take it to small claims court. As for the fault of the damage, I can see them saying that they'll cover the lock, but not the damage caused by you driving on it. Putting myself in their shoes, you failed to take every precaution to prevent further damage. It isn't their fault that you were in a rush. Suppose you had gone ahead and used the fix-a-flat without even *trying* to remove the lock. Would it then have been the fault of the fix-a-flat manufacturer? ...Gary
