From: harrison@cli.com (Calvin Harrison) Subject: The ol' Radio Problem Date: Fri, 1 Jul 1994 09:54:44 -0400
I just thought I'd drop a note and say how thankful I am to y'all for helping me out with my radio problem. I have learned it's the power supply/switch problem that seems to act up with humidity. Basically, the radio won't come on for approximately 15 minutes and can then still be intermittent. Anyhow, I'm currently waiting for a new one to arrive, but in the mean time, I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this problem, could they please call Mazda Customer Service at 1-800-222-5500. They told me I was the first one to call in with the problem. I find that hard to believe since all I had to do was mention "radio problem" on this mail list, and several of you knew what I was talking about before I even mentioned the symptoms. Maybe the calls would result in a service bulletin being issued and others in the future won't have the same hassles some of us have had. You never know when it could happen, I lived in Phoenix for 3 years and never had a problem. Just moved to Austin and the radio goes, and the trunk won't open half the time. I guess if that is all the problems I've had in three years, I should be thankful! Calvin Harrison '91 Silver Bullet
