I have had the (mis)fortune of replacing my stock antennae once. I have the Mazda Sensory Sound System that comes with the power ant. and it always worked fine till I drove it under a tree... I tried to save some money, and purchased an after market antennae, even though it was supposed to wire into a switch on the dash (hated this idea). Anyway, the MSSS wire harness was so complicated, the option was to install the new antennae independantly of the stereo, or buy the Mazda part. Spoiled, I bought Mazda's. What I discovered, was that a Mazda "power antennae for the Miata" is different than any other power ant. they sell. It comes with all motor, mounting hardware, wire-harness, fuses, bolts, etc... for the MSSS ONLY!! If you have the MSSS, its short work to plug this baby in and roll. I suggest that you check your trunk for any wire connections (other than the regular antennae jack of course) that may be there next to the battery. If you don't have a harness in place for the power antennae, you will be in for some serious wiring to compensate... good luck! kjw
