I too have the MSSS in my 93 C-Type (The only tan and white in TX so far...:-). The first thing I did after the purchase was to take it to my local stereo shop. They have done a lot of work for my friends and I and I trust them. They took a comprehensive look at the stereo in my Miata and recommended that I do NOTHING to it. The speakers are of good enough quality to handle the amperage that it is wired with so that extra loud volume over an extended period of time will not hurt them. I have mine up *nearly* all the way every time I head to the beach. Adding a bigger amp. could do some damage. I would suggest that before more amperage, you look to a speaker upgrade. The stock MSSS speakers are *MUCH* better than than the ones that come with the regular stereo, but I think you'd be surprised what a new set of clearwater door and headrest speakers can do with the MSSS. I speak from experience ;-) kjw
