Thanks for all the info on shifting! This is great - my mail seems to be working to the list now, and I am no longer mute! Yes, although I have heard of double-clutching and heel-and-toe driving, I don't think I'm ready yet for that. I might not even be able to reach both the brake and pedal with my right foot - I wasn't able to in the car that I was learning in (my shoe size is a size 6, kinda on the small end for a woman). I've also used the parking brake trick, and that works great for me, and I know not to let up on the clutch at a stop because of the wear on the clutch. I do have some "performance" friends, computer techies who are also car techies. It's all just hardware, isn't it? :-) One friend gave me a book written by a Formula 1 racer to help answer my questions on shifting. It sounds like I've been babying my car, so I guess it's time to drive her the proper way! Thanks, -alice _________________________________________________________________________ Alice T.
