The Sharper Image features a Tyvek car cover in their catalog.

I haven't got an actual sample of Tyvek right now for comparison, 
but I remember Tyvek ("paper") jackets were "crunchy".  I am concerned 
about having the material right next to that soft Miata paint.   I
suggest that interested parties should try to obtain a Tyvek sample
before buying.

I did get a sample of Ultralon, which is also extremely thin, but 
has a cotton innermost layer, and a 2 year warranty.

PS  Another two for the "Why San Diegans drive Miatas with the top up" list:

    Unsightly farmer tan lines.

    People get annoyed when you yell at them to speak up while
    you are on the cellular phone.

(Today I saw a guy in a Mustang convertible who was talking on a
cellular phones.  He was driving with the top down on I-15, going 
75 in the fast lane, which meant cars kept passing him on the right.)
