Subject: AT Miata Heat

I have a '91 AT (a concession to wife & children who do not drive a stick 
but wanted to drive the Miata)--I have noticed the tunnel getting warm 
but not excessively hot.  We drove to Minnesota, from PA, and did not 
have a problem with excessive heat in the tunnel.  However, I was 
playing the cassette, which started slipping.  When I removed the tape I 
couldn't believe how hot it was.  
I have not heard anything regarding the AT fluid.
