Hey, sounds like all you need to do now is practice!  (As do I.)  Insofar as
heel/toe technique is concerned, my men's 7-1/2 wouldn't span the brake and
gas pedals either.  However, I understand someone has come out with a gas
pedal extension, which might work.  Check your Miata Mag (although I can't
remember if it was there that I saw it or not).  Or, you could use the same
trick I did - get down under the dash and bend the throttle arm over to the
left a bit, so the pedal is closer to the brake.  Worked for me.  Now, if I
can only learn to do all that fancy stuff that all the other racers on the
net were telling you about --
