[ First, I wanted to thank everyone on this list for providing invaluable information over the past few months. Up until this past weekend, I wasn't a Miata owner. I've been lurking here for several months, feeling a bit out place, not owning the car that's the subject of all the discussions. Back in the beginning of this year, I knew I was going to purchase the car around September, so I joined this list (as well as the Miata Club), and I've been slowly gathering interesting bits of information and advice from all the articles posted here (as well as some personal correspondences). Finally last Friday, I purchased a new Blue 94B, and with the knowledge I've gained from all of you, it feels as if I've owned this car for years! Except I'm just starting to make loan payments now ;-) ] Now that the license plate thread has wound down a bit, I wanted to post a summary of what I've seen so far. (Unless someone is already doing this, I guess I'll go ahead and volunteer to maintain it.). I started this list because I was trying to come up with something witty for my own new car - but now I'm just collecting it just for the heck of it. The latest copy is available via anonymous ftp at: ftp.netcom.com in the file /pub/jaimev/Miata/plates Unless there's objections (and if the list below doesn't get too big), I was thinking of posting this once a month to the miata-list also. Is this ok with all of you? If you have additions/removals/modifications to the list, send e-mail to me, with the string "Miata plates" in the Subject: line. Send it to... jaimev@netcom.com Send the following information in your message (1) Your license plate number (personalized or non-personalized - it (2) your real name doesn't matter) * (3) your e-mail address (4) your city/state/region (5) your car's year, package & color (example: "red 93 B") [*] If it's ok with people, I'd like to make an e-mail address a requirement to get into this list - I think it adds a personal touch (personally compliment the owner of that Miata you zoomed by on the freeway, or curse the one that cut you off ;-)) ----------
