I think I'd prefer to mod the car to keep it similar to the BRG rather than cut holes in the headrests. I've already bought the Clarion radio as fitted to the BRG car. Only thing I had to do was change the cage and the loom attached to it. Nah, no need to cut any holes through the headrests, there's no external damage involved. Unzip the headrest cover (its hidden in the fold of cloth at the top of the headrest). Pull the front of the headrest forward - it consists of the cloth outer and a platic shield which is foam backed (the foam is on the driver side). Now you've found two holes in the headrest each ideally and perfectly cut for a square speaker in a mounting box - no work required ! What you have to perforate is the platic shield to allow some noise to escapea - that's all - and that lives insode the cloth cover so you don't see any of your work. I've just tried my local Mazda dealer and they don't know of either type of speaker (parcel or headrest). Seems as though it's a case of 'unusual part so can't be bothered to look for it'. They really, really are available - keep trying. I'll see what the rest of the UK Miata group come up with on 18th September. In the meantime, I'll try Mill Hill Mazda. I might make it to the gathering, commitments depending...... - Jonathan Regards, Stewart
