I have a sandwich type window saver. I works fairly well for protecting the window except for two problems: 1) when I want to drive with the top up, but window down (very common in N. Calif. where it may be foggy/cool in the morning), I have to just lay the window on top of the protector, because if I sandwich it the top of the protector towards the rear starts to curl up, encouraged I guess by the curve of the lower part of the window. When the sun comes out, I then want to just lower the top, but if it has curled too much, it gets "bent" by the top laying down on top of it. Anyone have a sandwich protector which does not do this? Perhaps it needs to have a weight strip stitched into the edge? Or be a little longer so as to cover the window more? 2) also with the top up, window down configuration, if I sandwich the window, and try to open door windows, the protector blows all over the place. The velcro strips on the side are just not enough to hold it. I like running in this configuration, which allows quick top up/down without zipping/unzipping the window, and allows keeps dust/bird droppings off the exposed window as it lays down.
