The following is a copy of a post on this question. Numbers 5, 7, 11/12, 13, 14 & 16 are the most important in my opinion. You could short cut a lot of this if you can drive the car once every three or four weeks. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask. >From the Miata rag page 17 Fall 1991. 1. Clean thoroughly, including engine and chassis 2. Wax 3. Drive for about thirty minutes and change the oil (can leave old filter) 4. Drive to bring up to full operating temperature and no electrical devices (this is to fully charge the battery) 5. Fill gas tank (tank should be full during storage) 6. Park it where it will be stored 7. Pull the spark plugs and squirt a tablespoon of warm (room temp) oil in each cylinder 8. Reinstall spark plugs 9. Turn engine over for a few seconds (DO NOT START) 10. Reinstall spark plug wires 11. Place on jack stands with tires off the ground OR 12. Inflate tires to 50 PSI, check monthly and chock the wheels 13. Spray brake rotors with "CRC 5-56" part #05005 (be sure to turn the rotors so as to get behind the calipers) NOTE: This will burn off the first time the brakes are used. Braking will be poor until this happens. 14. Disconnect the battery and recharge with a trickle charger overnight NOTE: Be sure to remember the radio anti-theft code. 15. Every four weeks reconnect you battery and run the map lights for about three hours, disconnect and recharge it NOTE: This is very important. 16. Push down the clutch pedal and place a piece of wood between the pedal and the seat base (This will keep the clutch from sticking) 17. Leave the top up and roll the windows down about one inch 18. Coat all the rubber seals with a silicone spray and do not wipe off 19. Release the hand brake 20. Put the transmission in neutral 21. Stuff a rag into the exhaust pipe 22. Cover and pull your hair out while waiting for spring My short cut. 1. Clean the car 2. Fill the tank 3. Put CRC on the brakes 4. Put Silicone on the rubber seals 5. Drive for 30-60 minutes once every three to four weeks 6. Run the A/C for 2-3 minutes 7. Refill the tank 8. Park ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Harvin Sauls hsauls@cybernetics.net Charlotte, NC 72441.2763@compuserve.com Carolinas Miata Club/MCA '92A Mariner Blue SCCA Solo II - C Stock ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
