Mathematical query: Is there an aura around Miatas that protects the driver from falling bird droppings? Or is it aerodynamics? Or am I living on borrowed time? I cross a major suspension bridge to and from work each day; it is home to approximately 17 billion roosting pigeons. Those grim, gray birds sit up there eyeing me with calculating looks, but in two and a half years not one of them has nailed me. Has the law of averages been repealed? This scenario has been the source of mild paranoia ever since I went topless. Can I stop looking up? Or should I start wearing a hat?
